An old trick is to put a brick in the toilet tank so it uses less water.

Newly made commitments:
1) On these Spring days in February I have an excellent opportunity to recommit to using my IKEA clothes drying rack. It's not quite warm enough to dry the clothes completely, so I put them in the dryer for 10 minutes (rather than 60) - and the clothes still have that fresh outdoors smell!

2) the house was converted to wind back in October through PEPCO.

3) I used this website to create an online wedding invitation and RSVP mechanism that uses password protected pages so only invited guests can see it. Fortunately, everyone is online (90% on Facebook!) except my grandparents. In a few months, I'll add a page describing how I greened the wedding with tons of green wedding resources.

I have always loved growing my own crops, trees and native plants. I make jams from the grapes, pears and apples we raise in the yard, hang wash outside when ever possible, shop farmers markets with my cloth bags, feed wildlife and provide shelter. I also donate unwanted items to shelters instead of trashing them. The earth is a wonderful place if we each do our part to ensure it will be the same earth for future generations to enjoy.

2. Get LEED certified so I can make a bigger difference in my operations management role at work. (still working on this one)

3. Attend the Green Festival on October 6th so I can learn about a lot more resources.
